At its core, New Generation is all about facilitating  collaboration between professionals and students to inspire people to live more sustainably

 

New Generation is a project, based at Brunel University, to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and improving sustainability at Brunel. However, it has progressed into an annual event to highlight the work that people all over the world are doing for sustainability- particularly sustainable and ethical fashion.

 

Ethical and sustainable fashion is an important issue as a large amount of water is used in garment production and contaminated water containing pesticides, fertilizers and chemicals are often discharged into waterways. That is why the designing, sourcing and manufacturing of garment needs to be done in a way that benefits people and communities and minimises the negative impact on the environment.

 

We have collaborated with aspiring designers and models at universities and amazing brands such as MADE, Bird Sunglasses and LilyFlo Jewellery. We have also partnered with sustainable initiatives such as projects that support people to use fewer plastics and water waste and raise awarenes of sustainability.
